Meet Pamal

I’m Pamal, a Nurse Practitioner (NP) and Certified Lactation Consultant. I also currently work in an amazing clinic providing primary and maternity care, alongside physicians and midwives serving countless patients like you.

I began my career as a registered nurse in a surgical unit at Vancouver General Hospital, and then spent several years in labour and delivery at Surrey Memorial Hospital. There, I quickly realised my passion was working with families- during their pregnancies, throughout labour, delivery and during the new breastfeeding stage. I also wanted the ability to diagnose and treat my patients, in addition to providing nursing care. The NP degree was a perfect fit.

I can relate to some of your experiences first hand. I have three young kids, and the journey wasn’t always smooth when it came to making, growing, birthing and feeding them. Endometriosis, in vitro fertilization (IVF), a first pregnancy filled with complications and low milk supply were some of my challenges. My journey also involved a Cesarean section followed by two vaginal births after C-section (VBAC).

Whatever your journey involves, you have my help.

Why Baby Ed.?

Because you want the best for you and your growing family.

Baby Ed. sets itself apart by providing Nurse Practitioner (NP) based education and medical care.

Pamal provides evidence-based prenatal education, and her experience working alongside family doctors and midwives has led her to understand best practices and controversies.

Pamal’s ability to diagnose, treat and refer is an asset, as you get help with lactation and postpartum care. This is especially helpful if you don’t have a regular family physician, need extra help in breastfeeding, or want to be seen in the comfort of your home.

As a nurse practitioner, Pamal can diagnose, prescribe and refer to other health care professionals. Pamal can help with hassle free care and treatment in the comfort of your own home.

Nurse practitioners are licensed health care providers that have the skill set and authority to autonomously diagnosis and treat illness disease. They can order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications and perform medical procedures.

Nurse practitioners have an additional 2 years of masters’ level education on top of their undergraduate nursing degree, and undergo a licensing process regulated by the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia.
